The Torah tells us that Elijah (Eliyohu hanavi) the prophet will come one day prior to the Messiahs arrival. However, Elijah will not come on a Friday, when Jewish women are busy preparing for the Sabbath by cooking, baking and shopping. From this we see how highly G-d regards housewives
preparation for the Sabbath. The entire world, which is waiting for the messianic redemption, takes a back seat so that the housewife may be part of the excitement.
